Since 1977 Stephanie Blyth has been creating dolls that awaken the joy, spirit and imagination of childhood.
Recognized as one of the finest doll artists in her field, Stephanie has created a body of work that has been exhibited internationally and can be found in celebrated private and public collections including the Musee Des Arts Decoratifs at the Louvre in Paris, The White house Christmas tree and the miniature Museum of Kansas City.
Each piece begins as a porcelain slip and is poured into Stephanie's original moldes. While still in the clay form, each piece is individually sculpted ,carefully cleaned and fired in a kiln.
Costumes are built of special details: real acorns and litchns or bits of antique lace, ribbon and fabrics from other time periods and other lives. Tiny Swarovski Austrian crystal's opals, antique metal findings and occasionally real wings complete the vision.
Because of the craftsmanship, antique materials and creativity involved, each is unique and obsesses a magical quality that makes fantasy belelieavable.
